Our story
The founding of Kilimanjaro And Beyond was inspired by an unconventional college graduation gift. When one of Kilimanjaro And Beyond"s founders, Jessie, graduated from Colorado State University, her parents hoped to congratulate her with a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience. They chose Mount Kilimanjaro for its ideal combination of travel, adventure, and culture.
The trip was a success on all fronts! Jessie and her father, Keith, climbed Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route and reached the summit at sunrise on a spectacularly clear morning.

After returning to the United States, Jessie and her father agreed that the only thing they would have changed about their trip would be to stay longer, and do more! Tanzania is a beautiful country, with wonderful people, and has so much to offer beyond Mount Kilimanjaro. And so the idea for Kilimanjaro And Beyond was born – to create a company focused on offering trips that include the best adventures Tanzania has to offer.

Our goal at Kilimanjaro And Beyond is to provide our clients with the adventure-of-a-lifetime in Tanzania. Of course, that includes getting you to the summit of Kilimanjaro’s glacier-covered summit. But after that, we encourage you to do more. Visit the Serengeti and Arusha National Park to see wildlife like nowhere else on Earth. Visit natural springs to soak in the replenishing water after summiting Africa’s highest peak. Maybe even climb another mountain - Mount Meru is only 45 miles (70 km) away from Kilimanjaro and is Tanzania’s second tallest peak at 14,980 feet/ 4566 meters.

Our exclusive Tanzanian partner (Kilimanjaro and Beyond TZ) is based in Moshi, Tanzania. Kilimanjaro And Beyond Tanzania's leader, Deo, has been a Mount Kilimanjaro guide for 14 years and has guided hundreds of successful Kilimanjaro climbs up every major route, in all seasons and weather conditions. As a lifelong resident of Tanzania, Deo, knows the best way to experience all that Tanzania has to offer – whether its mountain peaks, natural springs, wildlife safaris, cultural experiences, or the beaches of Zanzibar.
