One week is all you need

+

= $2400

Lightening Week combines a 6 day climb up Kilimanjaro taking the Marangu Route and then heading over to Arusha National Park for a one day African Safari. “You’ve done it”- climbed the highest peak in Africa and went on a Safari...that is why this is known as our Lightening Week.  This is a favorite with our Spring Break clients, our hard working folks that can only get away for a short time, and especially for our most ambitious clients that are looking for a challenge unlike any other.

Mount Kilimanjaro affectionately called ‘Kili’ is the highest mountain in Africa, proudly measuring in at 19,340 ft or 5,895 m making it the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Recognized by its majestic crown of snow and oftentimes underestimated. If you are interested in a challenge, mentally and physically, come join us as we respectfully scale one of the Seven Summits (the highest point on each continent).

Kili

Marangu Route is also known as the "Coca-Cola" route because it offers comforts such as sleeping huts and the ability to buy soft drinks, chocolate bars, and other comforts at camps along the route. If you are looking for classic Kilimanjaro, look no further! Marangu is the oldest and most well defined route - it is the quintessential Kilimanjaro trek. We selected this route for our shortest ascent because the gradual slope makes it the easiest climb. (Although the shorter trek can be difficult. If you want more days to acclimatize, please ask.) It is possible to

Marangu

summit Kilimanjaro in 5 days on this route, but the extra day Kilimanjaro and Beyond includes increases acclimatization time, and your chances of summiting, while still keeping the trek short.

At Arusha National Park size isn’t everything. Arusha Safaris are enjoyed by all because of the amazing variety of wildlife in the comparably small park. Here we see species that are not seen in the other parks, like the black and white colobus monkey, as well as the more common water buffalo, zebra, warthog, and flamingo. Arusha is also home to the world's largest herd of giraffes. We might even see the shy red duikers, dik-diks, or elephants. Leopards are present, but rare. Speaking of rare... an extremely rare albino Baboon was recently seen here!
