Mount Meru is a dormant stratovolcano located a little over 40 miles from Mount Kilimanjaro, due west. Measuring in at 14,967 ft or 4,562 m. It is the 5th tallest peak in Africa and the 2nd tallest in Tanzania. This is a great climb by itself but as a ‘warm up’ trek before attempting to summit 'Kili', it is priceless. Low traffic, great wildlife viewing, acclimatization, and bragging rights are just a few guaranteed perks. If you are looking for unmatched photographs of Kilimanjaro and an incredibly picturesque peak, then Meru is a must.

At Arusha National Park size isn’t everything. Arusha Safaris are enjoyed by all because of the amazing variety of wildlife in the comparably small park. Here we see species that are not seen in the other parks, like the black and white colobus monkey, as well as the more common water buffalo, zebra, warthog, and flamingo. Arusha is also home to the world's largest herd of giraffes. We might even see the shy red duikers, dik-diks, or elephants. Leopards are present, but rare. Speaking of rare... an extremely rare albino Baboon was recently seen here!
The Rongai Route is unique in that it approaches from the north, near the Kenyan border, traversing through wilderness areas. Rongai is the right route as it has low traffic, receives less precipitation, and is moderately difficult making it ideal for those with less backpacking experience.
Mount Kilimanjaro affectionately called ‘Kili’ is the highest mountain in Africa, proudly measuring in at 19,340 ft or 5,895 m making it the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Recognized by its majestic crown of snow and oftentimes underestimated. If you are interested in a challenge mentally and physically come join us as we respectfully summit one of the Seven Summits (the highest point on each continent).
